Our How It Works

From Assessment to Action — Building Focus Step by Step

Cognitive & Executive Function Assessment

We begin with a detailed baseline using CogniFit and Cogmed to identify attention, memory, and regulation strengths and challenges.

Using evidence-based tools like CogniFit and Cogmed, we measure the core mental skills that drive focus, learning, and athletic performance — including:

  • Attention control (sustaining and shifting focus)

  • Working memory (holding and using information during tasks)

  • Processing speed (how efficiently the brain reacts)

  • Cognitive flexibility (switching between tasks or strategies)

  • Self-regulation (managing emotions and impulses in real time)

This data-driven profile helps us identify both strengths your athlete can leverage and growth areas that may be affecting performance — whether that’s zoning out mid-game, struggling to finish assignments, or losing confidence after mistakes.

The assessment is engaging, visual, and designed for student-athletes — no long tests, no stress. By the end, we have a personalized map of your athlete’s cognitive and executive functioning to guide their individualized training plan.

Individualized Plan

Based on assessment results, we design a 10-week training plan focused on your athlete’s needs — attention, working memory, cognitive flexibility, or emotional regulation.

Every brain processes information differently — and so should every training program.
Using data from the CogniFit and Cogmed assessments, we pinpoint the specific mental skills that most affect your athlete’s focus, confidence, and in-game performance.

From there, we create a structured plan that targets their most important growth areas, which may include:

  • Attention – strengthening sustained and selective focus to reduce distractions during games and schoolwork.

  • Working Memory – building the ability to hold and manipulate information under pressure (remembering plays, sequences, or directions).

  • Cognitive Flexibility – improving adaptability to switch strategies quickly and recover from mistakes.

  • Emotional Regulation – developing calm, confident responses to stress, frustration, or performance pressure.

Each plan is designed with the right balance of challenge and support, integrating science-backed digital training (like Cogmed, CogniFit, and NeuroTrainer) with guided executive function coaching to ensure progress translates beyond the clinic.

Your athlete’s plan becomes their personal roadmap — a clear, motivating path toward better focus, performance, and control both on and off the ice.

Integrated Training

Sessions blend evidence-based tools:

  • Cogmed – 25-session working memory protocol for attention and focus.

  • CogniFit – digital exercises for processing speed and cognitive flexibility.

  • NeuroTrainer – VR-based training to strengthen focus under pressure.

  • SMARTS – Executive Function curriculum designed by Harvard researchers for planning and self-management.

What Is Executive Function & ADHD Coaching?

Executive functions are the brain’s control center — the skills that help athletes plan, focus, shift, and stay calm under pressure.

When ADHD or executive dysfunction interfere, athletes may struggle to manage time, follow through on tasks, or stay focused during competition.

Our program bridges neuroscience and sport to strengthen the mental systems that help athletes think strategically, react calmly, and stay in control — on and off the ice.

Executive Function & ADHD Coaching

Focus. Confidence. Control.

This isn’t just coaching — it’s brain training for focus, working memory, and self-regulation.
Our program helps student-athletes strengthen the mental systems that drive success in sports, school, and life.
