Every concussion is different — but recovery shouldn’t be left to chance.
With data-driven cognitive rehabilitation, we rebuild the brain systems that power performance, focus, and confidence.
Recover smarter. Return stronger.

Who This Program Is For
-
Athletes recently diagnosed with a concussion or mild traumatic brain injury (mTBI)
-
Students struggling with attention, focus, or fatigue after a head injury
-
Families seeking a structured, clinically supervised, return-to-play pathway
-
Coaches and trainers who want a professional referral program for safe recovery
Long-term resilience and reduced re-injury risk
Through advanced cognitive and visual training, we strengthen brain systems that protect against future injuries and promote lifelong performance, focus, and brain health.
Shorter recovery time and reduced post-concussion symptoms
Targeted cognitive training accelerates healing by retraining the brain’s processing systems, helping athletes recover focus and energy sooner while minimizing headaches, fatigue, and fogginess.
Measurable improvement in attention, memory, and processing speed
With tools like CogniFit and NeuroTrainer, we track tangible progress in key brain functions—so you can see improvement in focus, recall, and quick thinking session by session.

How It Works
Every concussion is different, and so is every recovery. Our step-by-step program is built to guide your athlete safely through healing — rebuilding focus, confidence, and clarity along the way. With clinical precision and compassionate support, we help them recover smarter, feel stronger, and return to the game they love — ready and resilient.
Neurocognitive & Functional Assessment
We begin with a comprehensive concussion assessment using CogniFit, NeuroTrainer, and clinical symptom inventories to evaluate attention, memory, processing speed, and reaction time.
This establishes a baseline of recovery and identifies specific brain systems affected by the injury.
We also review your athlete’s post-injury symptoms, school challenges, and activity tolerance — ensuring we design a plan that is safe, gradual, and personalized.

Individualized Rehabilitation Plan
Using assessment data, we develop a structured 12-week rehabilitation plan tailored to your athlete’s needs and stage of recovery.
Our focus areas include:
-
Attention retraining to rebuild sustained focus
-
Processing-speed drills to restore quick, efficient thinking
-
Memory exercises to strengthen short-term and working memory
-
Visual-vestibular coordination to improve balance and tracking
-
Reaction time and decision-making training to support safe return to play
Each plan is guided by Katherine Wallisch, MS, CCC-SLP, CBIS, a Certified Brain Injury Specialist, ensuring clinical accuracy and sport-specific relevance.

Guided Cognitive & Visual Training Sessions
Once cleared for light activity, athletes begin active cognitive rehabilitation using cutting-edge tools:
-
CogniFit – personalized exercises for attention, memory, and speed of processing.
-
NeuroTrainer – VR-based visual-motor reactivation to rebuild focus and decision-making under pressure.
-
Vizual Edge – eye-tracking and visual integration exercises to restore depth perception and focus accuracy.
-
SMARTS & Edge Foundation Coaching – executive-function strategies for school re-entry, planning, and confidence building.
Each 60-minute session combines digital training, guided therapeutic coaching, and symptom monitoring to ensure progress is safe and steady.

Progress Tracking & Return-to-Play Integration
We re-assess every few weeks to track recovery using cognitive performance data, symptom scores, and parent/coach feedback.
As the athlete progresses, we integrate decision-making, reaction speed, and visual drills to simulate real sports demands.
Once the athlete meets objective cognitive and physical benchmarks, we coordinate with physicians, schools, and coaches to ensure a safe, confident return to play and academics.
Our goal: not just to get your athlete back — but to make them stronger and more resilient than before.

Why it Matters
Recovering from a concussion isn’t just about rest — it’s about retraining the brain.
Targeted cognitive rehabilitation speeds recovery, reduces lingering symptoms, improves focus and balance, and helps athletes return to sport and life with confidence and clarity.
Faster recovery through targeted training.
Research shows early cognitive rehab supports quicker, more complete recovery.
Reduces long-term symptoms
Guided therapy decreases fatigue, fogginess, and slowed thinking.
Protects against re-injury
Cognitive retraining improves reaction and balance control for safer return to play.
Supports mental health
Restoring focus and confidence helps athletes rebuild identity and motivation post-injury.
What Is Concussion & Cognitive Rehabilitation?

Supporting the Brain. Strengthening the Athlete.
A concussion affects how the brain processes information — often leading to changes in focus, reaction time, memory, and emotional regulation.
Our Concussion & Cognitive Rehabilitation Program is designed to help student-athletes and active individuals recover not just physically, but neurocognitively.
We combine neuroscience, cognitive rehabilitation, and sport psychology to retrain the brain after injury — helping athletes recover faster, reduce post-concussion symptoms, and safely transition back to sport, school, and daily life.
